Construction Zone

www.leichic.com

You’ve read too many magazine articles to count about changing up your look without shopping – you know, the ones that tell you “it’s all about accessorizing” or how to create new looks just by “shopping your closet.”

But the truth is, it’s not that easy to get excited about new outfits when they aren’t really new.

So you might be surprised at how much you can do with one of your old T-shirts. In about 30 minutes of simple cutting and stitching, you can easily turn an old T-shirt into a tank top or maybe even a dress, or use the fabric to make a cool belt or bag.

Don’t believe it? Head over to Town & Country Surf ’s T-Shirt Reconstruction sessions this week at Kahala Mall. Starting tomorrow and running through Sunday, the store will host a daily demo showing you step-by-step how to cut, stitch and hem your old tees into a brand new garment. For inspiration, check out the window display with examples cut and sewn by UH fashion program students.

Finally, fashion tips that fit you to T.

T-shirt Reconstruction sessions will be held March 26-29 from 3 to 4 p.m. at Town & Country Surf, Kahala Mall, 808.733.5699
