Spark’s Dreamy, Breezy Summertime Clothing
Florals and blushes? Yes, please.
We may be double-tapping our fingers sore on those Insta pics of too-cool trench coats and trendy autumn knits, but, when it comes to ensembles IRL, this humidity is making us want to ditch chic for breezy.
Let’s not get drastic. Thanks to Spark, by North Shore-based Sanna Myers, we’re seeing the stylish light and stocking our closet with her brand’s dreamy basics. Rompers in pearly white and soft florals will inspire us to brave the humid wave, while separates in soft blushes, summertime-essential neutrals and wide, breathable cuts will help us beat the heat. With details on some of the pieces including a faux cape, a subtle dip-dye effect and otherworldly prints, this is a brand that will let your sartorial prowess shine.
This collection is Spark’s first ever, with a new one on the way for the second half of 2015. When Myers, who studied fashion design in Sweden, moved to Hawai‘i five years ago to volunteer for Surfing the Nations, she realized that her usual go-to approach of styling layers upon layers wasn’t going to cut it in this equatorial clime. She needed to create gems that were cute enough to go it alone and developed an aesthetic focused on minimal lines and clever solutions in this too-hot-to-handle weather.
Now that is what we call a spark of genius.
