Ready to Dare
What: City scavenger hunt Urban Dare kicks off its seventh year with its inaugural run in Hawaii. Grab a friend and amazing race your way to complete tasks, take pictures, and solve trivia. First pair to cross the finish line wins $300 and a chance to compete for $5,000 in Milwaukee.
When: Saturday, check in begins at 10 a.m., the race starts at noon.
Where: The starting line is at Ala Moana Beach Park, the exact location will be announced today.
Details: $90 entry fee per couple. Bring a cell phone with camera or digital camera. Register or read all the rules on Urban Dare's website.
What: Take two Andrew Jacksons to Chai's new forty dollar, five-course prix fixe menu. Start with roasted butternut squash and lobster bisque shooter, slide into the fresh ahi katsu with tomato mango salsa wasabi curry sauce and just try to save room for the white chocolate amore truffle.
When: Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday only. Dinner starts at 4 p.m.
Where: Chai's Island Bistro, Aloha Tower Marketplace.

In Black and White
What: Carve out a few hours to absorb the striking monochromatic landscapes of Linda Kane's Na Mahina i Hala exhibit. The two-year body of work (Waahila shown right) brings her experiences in the Mid-West and Hawaii to the walls of downtown Honolulu.
When: Linda Kane's exhibit opens tomorrow. The opening reception with the artist is Friday, February 3.

The End of the Rainbow-tique
What: Grab University of Hawaii gear for a little less green at UH 'sRainbow-tique's closing sale on Fort Street Mall. Everything, including Kulanui eats, is at least 30 percent off until the final day.
When: The Rainbowtique downtown closes January 31.

What: Even if your Olympic figure skating dreams are on ice you can take a turn on blades of glory on the synthetic skating rink that just opened in Windward Mall.
When: 2 - 9 p.m. Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday through January 26.
Where: Windward Mall.
