On behalf of the Captain and entire crew, welcome aboard Lei Chic Airlines flight 8911, stop-and-go-service to the Land of Nod.
Our flight time will be anywhere between five minutes and six hours depending on your comfort level. For $7, you may rent a scratchy wool blanket and flat, postage stamped-sized pillow non-hermetically sealed in a plastic bag.
But if you direct your attention to the tvs set too high above your head or to our flight attendants, they will demonstrate another option to speed your trip to unconsciousness – the Sky Dreams travel set.
Mililani mom and grandmother Angie Higa sews the cute printed bags that can easily be stored in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you. In case of emergency drowsiness, simply unfold the bag into a fleece, flannel-lined, or minky faux fur blanket, slip the matching pillow around your neck and assume the sleeping position.
If you are traveling with a child who requires assistance, secure your comfort first, then pull out the keiki backpack that unfolds into a smaller blanket and pillow with playful prints.
Sky Dreams comes in six different styles and more than 40 different fabrics. In case of a water landing, everything is machine washable. Electronic devices such as your iPod, phone, or even a book and wallet can be stored in the blanket’s pocket.
Now sit back, relax, and feel free to snooze around the cabin.
Sky Dreams range between $34.99 and $79.99 and are available at a Little Bit of Everything, 725 Kapiolani Blvd., and on Sky Dreams online shop.
Higa will debut a backpack for bigger kids and a new luxurious fabric at the Made in Hawaii Festival , August 19 – 21.
