Consign Of The Times

www.leichic.com

You’ve been shopping the post-holiday sales and clearing room in your closet for all the new booty. So what to do with all those clothes you only wore twice and probably won’t put on again?

Don’t just give it all away. Get cash or trade for some new threads at these consignment boutiques around the island.

Nini’s Boutique Exchange
Just two months old, Nini’s has assembled walls full of nearly new tops and dresses from J.Crew, Banana Republic, BCBG Max Azria, and lots of other top labels. Nini’s pays the best of any consignment boutique in town – you keep 60 percent of the final sales price. Most items are in the $20-$80 range, and there are designer bags from Coach, Fendi and Dooney & Bourke as well as lots of inexpensive, non-used shoes. Nini’s Boutique Exchange, 1154 Koko Head Avenue, 808.739.2500.

Stylus Honolulu
It’s located upstairs on the third floor of University Square, but Stylus has a definite downtown vibe. The racks are full of trendy tops, dresses and lots of cute shorts and skirts – and most of it is $10 or less. Stylus pays cash for your clothes on the spot – 50 percent of what they plan to sell it for, or you can get double the cash offer in store credit. Stylus Honolulu, 2615 S. King Street (on the corner of University Avenue, across from Puck’s Alley), third floor, 808.951.4500, www.stylushonolulu.com

The Clothes Chick
One of the larger consignment stores in town, The Closet Chick has a big selection if you’re a buyer. Which is good news if you’re a seller too – bring in your clothes and they’ll make you a dollar amount offer, in the form of store credit only. The store does pay cash for designer handbags and gold jewelry. The Clothes Chick, 2013 S. King Street (near McCully Street), 808.942.2442.

Pzazz
Perhaps one of the oldest consignment boutiques on the island, Pzazz will keep your clothes in the store for 90 days and pay you 40 percent of the final selling price. You can pick up your unsold items after that time. Pzazz, 3057 Waialae Avenue (between 1st and 2nd avenues), 808.732.5900.
