Florencia Arias’ Bright New Collection

Yellow comes first in this cheery resort collection.

Someone wise once said, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Someone even wiser said, when life gives you lemons, grab some tequila and salt and turn those suckers into margaritas.

We’re wondering why lemons get such a bad rap, to be honest.  Personally, we love that chipper pop of yellow that adds a little ray of sunshine to our day—whether it’s in our glasses or in our wardrobes. Take, for instance, the new Florencia Arias collection, made with exclusive hand-dyed and screen-printed materials, about which we are keen as mustard. While prepping her mood board for spring, Arias was stoked to find that the trend forecasts were all pointing down a yellow-brick road for the upcoming season.

These good-as-gold pieces are inspired by the resort lifestyle, translated into items that any stylish Island gal can rock on the daily. Arias teamed up with her hubby, Todd, for some graphic help with these tropical prints, which will color you yellow-lovers happy. Arias turned to the pervasive palm tree for these abstract beauties, pulling from both graceful fronds as well as textured trunks. It’s all wrapped into breezy, backless rompers (short for daytime, long for night), lace-up maxis, sexy, open-cut tanks and playful, tied dresses. Oh, and did we mention the citrus-y scarf that doubles as a sarong and that you need in your spring wardrobe, like, right now?

Safe to say it’s a look that will really bear fruit.

$48–$110, at florenciaarias.com.
