Where: Hokulani Bake Shop, Restaurant Row and Pioneer Plaza downtown.

Hit the Ice, Ice Baby
What: So it’s 80 and sunny instead of 32 and blowing snow. You can still pretend. Hit the Ice Palace during public skating hours and rock around the rink.

Details: Admission $8.90 per person, includes skate rental. Call 808.487.9921 for more info or visit

Say Cheers to Holiday Spirits
What: After the present wrapping marathon, and the present opening marathon, you need a drink. Head to Lewers Lounge at the Halekulani, where you can order the Sparkle and Spice, a champagne cocktail kicked up with lime, chili, sage, port and a couple other flavors that give it pop. Or, go for the Easy As Pie, with tequila, Grand Marnier, and pumpkin puree topped with ginger beer and served with a cinnamon sugar rim.
When: Any night this weekend till midnight.
Where: Lewers Lounge, Halekulani hotel, Kalia Road, Waikiki
Details: Both cocktails are $12 and available on request through the new year. More info here.

Meet the Reel Santa

Where: There are tons of lists of top Christmas movies, a couple to start with are here and here.

Light Up the Night
Check out some locals’ handiwork with outdoor lights that rival the Griswolds, even when there’s no snow and intermittent power outages across the island.

Where: Addresses and directions are listed in full here.
