Toastee Reception

Lei Chic They’ve got spirits! Yes, they do! They’ve got spirits! How 'bout you?

If the holiday madness has taken the pep out of your step, rally a few friends and toast the night away at A Celebration of Sparklers.

Hosted by Brasserie Du Vin, purveyor of some of Honolulu’s best French cuisine, the to-flip-for tasting event honors the captains of the cheer squad: Champagne and sparkling wines.

Fifteen different bubblies in all will be served, including nine Champagnes from luxury brands such as Charles Heidsieck, Tattinger, and Delamotte, and six sparkling wines, from the likes of Iron Horse, Schramsberg and Domaine Carneros. A sparkling wine expert, and Danny Kaaialii, Du Vin's wine steward and beverage program manager, will be on hand to talk flavor profiles and answer questions.

Perfecting the pyramid of delight will be savory finger foods specifically designed to complement the sparklers, including Kushi oysters, Genoa salami and truffle pâté served with French bread, and St. Andre-ripened Brie topped with Manoa Valley honey. Plus, a special house-made dessert—a milk chocolate, strawberry and pistachio parfait sure to score sweet points with the crowd.

Just the bubbly cheer feeder you needed to get into the holiday spirits.

Brasserie Du Vin’s A Celebration of Sparklers event takes place at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 16. 1115 Bethel St., Chinatown. Seating is limited. For reservations, call 808.545.1115.
