Go Postal

Lei ChicTwas ten nights before Christmas, and all through the house,
You were going crazy, online shopping with your mouse.
With a long list of gifts for mainland friends,
You were ready to click, purchase and send.

And then upon checkout there arose such a clatter,
Your dreams of cheap gifts suddenly shattered.
$52.40 in just shipping fees?
So much for online shopping being a breeze.

When down the chimney who should come,
But jolly old St. Nick with some shipping wisdom.
“Ho Ho Ho, now don’t despair,
There’s a way to get gifts cheaply from here to anywhere!”

With a twinkle in his eye he happily decreed,
“Just wait a few days and get your shipping for free.
The only thing you need to remember,
Is that National Free Shipping Day is the 17th of December.”

“With over 1,000 online merchants participating,
Just think of all the money that you’ll be saving.
Plus, guaranteed delivery by December 24th,
From beloved retailers like Kate Spade, Overstock and Jones New York."

With a wink and a wave, he jumped into his sleigh,
And headed off on his gift giving way.
He cheerily exclaimed, as he faded off into the night,
“Merry Christmas to all, and to your gifts a free flight!”

National Free Shipping Day is Friday, Dec. 17. Free shipping is only available within the continental US. To find a list of retailers participating visit http://www.freeshippingday.com.
