Nog Heaven

You’re lining up all your nights out before Christmas, and everyone’s stirring – and shaking, and sipping.
Especially at Chinatown’s Brasserie Du Vin, where a new menu of holiday cocktails was introduced this week, just in time for First Friday tonight.
Sip on the Poinsettia, a cranberry-spiked flute of champagne with a twist of lime, or the Chocolate Candy Cane martini, a party-starter of Rumple Minze and Bailey’s served up with a crushed-candy cane rim. The Pear-y Christmas pear martini and the Spiced Apple version (with ginger vodka and apple liqueur) will get you in the spirit of the season too.
The shining star of the list, though, is the Du Vin Eggnog, which blends the traditional creamy drink with spiced rum and Kahlua and presents it on ice in a snifter. It’s more of a dessert than a cocktail, and even one will have you toasting to holiday cheer.
So try not to go nog wild.
Holiday cocktails are available during the month of December at Brasserie Du Vin, 1115 Bethel Street (across from the Hawai‘i Theater), Honolulu, 808.545.1115.
