Pop Stars

Lei Chic David Beckham. Her own ultra-stylish clothing line. David Beckham. A ton of chart-topping singles. Err, did we mention David Beckham?
Sure Sporty Spice had the killer abs and an enviable track pant collection, but Victoria proved that a little Posh goes a long way.
Just like local girls Laura Ivy and Alessandra Klein, designers of Urgentina, the glam little bikini line newly available in Kaimuki.
Originally from Brazil and South Florida, repsectively, the friends were bored with the sporty, no-frills bikinis that saturated the Islands’ surf stores. They longed for the fashion-minded styles of their hometowns and began making pieces for themselves, glitzing up suits with embellishments, like semi-precious gemstones, coral and shells.

Requests came pouring in and the line now boasts three chic sub-collections. Urgentina Couture features vibrant prints and girlish details — halter straps adorned with chunky turquoise stones and bottom side straps lined with pretty shell discs. Urgentina Hawaii offers up simple yet sleek styles — triangle tops hand-beaded with playful "I Heart HI" logos.
All of the bikinis are made from sturdy, ultra-soft Rosette Lycra— except for those in the Urgentina Aware collection, which are made from recycled materials and eco-friendly fabrics, like bamboo. And all are hand-sewn in Brazil in limited quantities and then finished in Honolulu, which means you get a unique piece every time.
The line even offers something for the Baby Spices in your group — adorable mini bikinis for toddlers and babies.
Just the pop you need to spice up your beach life.
Urgentina swimwear is available at Drift Boutique, 3434 Waialae Ave., Suite 4, Honolulu, 808.284.1177.
