Lei Chic The moment the doctor told you that the baby-shaped blob in the sonogram was a girl, the names of a dozen amazing power-women popped into your mind.

Carefully, you tried each out in sentences your little one would inevitably hear one day:

"And the winner of this year's Nobel Peace Prize is ________."

"I, ________, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States."

Ten amazing years later, you pray for Heaven's namesake she'll turn out to be a leader.

Don't leave anything to chance. Enroll her in La Pietra Hawaii School for Girls' summer courses. Three different programs will remind the gals of Hawaii that the double XX's in our chromosomes stand for extra extraordinary.

Lei ChicTwo weeklong leadership courses - Leadership I and Leadership II - will instill in her the power of the five C's: confidence, competence, creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking. The two-week long performing arts courses, led by Broadway performer Mary Gutzi and esteemed dance teacher and choreographer Ahnya Chang, will focus on helping students develop stage presence while building confidence and creativity.

Each session lasts just a few weeks because La Pietra understands that your daughter likely has many other interests she wants to explore over the summer (like easing diplomatic relations with any number of Middle Eastern countries or balancing the federal budget). But the time she spends there will undoubtedly be well worth her time.

This summer at La Pietra, girls will be girls, and, in your opinion, that's a pretty awesome thing.

La Pietra Hawaii School for Girls' summer sessions begin June 4 and run through July 20. For more information, or to register, call (808) 922-2744 or e-mail info@lapietra.edu.
