HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE Q&A LINE:

Hawaii Five-0 executive producer Peter Lenkov spends a lot of time eating; he loves the poke at Side Street Inn.

Executive producer Alex Kurtzman is still learning how to stand up on a surfboard.

People still get the pronunciation of actor Chi McBride’s name wrong. It’s pronounced “shy.” “I don’t even bother—I just say what’s up,” McBride says, laughing. When McBride’s not playing SWAT Captain Lou Grover on set, he’s out playing golf.

Waikiki was a zoo last night, an estimated 8,000 residents and tourists packed Queen's Beach on Thursday (even as early as Wednesday afternoon), to get a glimpse of their favorite Hawaii Five-0 actors and catch a free concert from the Jonas Brothers after the screening.

We braved the crowds to chat with the stars and producers, and along the way we met some super fans from Australia, Belgium, Norway and Italy. Many of them didn’t get any shuteye for 24 hours, but it was worth the wait—they got plenty of love from actors Alex O’Loughlin and Daniel Dae Kim (he even jumped the fence to greet his adoring fans). They both spent more time signing autographs and posing for pictures with fans than walking the red carpet to talk to the media.

That made the several ladies from LLOL, also known as the Long Legs O'Loughlin fan club, happy.

Canadian resident Audrey Manasterski, 66, was among the first fans camping overnight on Queen's Beach near the end of the carpet. It's her fifth time in Hawaii, and she’s been to all the premieres.

"We've been here since day one," says Manasterski, just before the stars arrived. "We made it all three nights without sleeping; I haven't slept yet."

Mary Enriquez, 68, travelled from England carrying her country flag and a scrapbook filled with O’Loughlin’s photos and newspaper clippings.

“I make one every single year with all of Alex’s personal life, his private life, everything that’s going in his films, bits and pieces from the Hawaii magazine,” Enriquez says. “He’s signed one every single year for me.”

Los Angeles resident Lisa Fortenberry, 59, joined her friends Manasterski and Enriquez. She hoped to get a February 2011 copy of Australia's Jetstar Magazine autographed by O'Loughlin. She did.

"We'd like to see a little more romance between Steve and Catherine," Fortenberry says.

Michelle Borth, who plays Steve McGarrett's love interest Catherine Rollins, says viewers will get to know her character better.

"We've only known Catherine in the Navy and that's been her entire life," she says. "And for the first time, she's going to be leaving and trying to figure out what she's going to do now."

And does the romance heat up for Catherine and McGarrett?

"Maybe, maybe not," she teases. "You'll just have to wait and see."

And the biggest crowd reaction during the screening of the first episode? The appearance of a shirtless McGarrett.

The show premieres tonight on CBS at 9/8c.
