Open House Pick of the Week: This Kailua Home is Surrounded by Lush Landscape

You know when a contractor builds his own home, it’s going to be done the way you wish your home looked. Why can’t they all do this for us? I have major interior design envy after looking at this week’s open house pick.
Completed earlier this year, the 1,592-square-foot, two-story home was custom-built and designed by a commercial contractor and an architect with high standards. The structure is concrete, poured in place to create solid walls; the deck has polished concrete flooring and metal beams.
There’s lots of space to move around, since the lot is 21,083 square feet—which is almost half an acre—and includes a terraced yard with citrus trees. The position of the home on the lot gives it a nice view of Keolu Hills.
The two-story living room has ample wall space, which is ideal for art collectors or people who just like a feeling of openness. There are two bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, and air conditioning throughout the whole home.
Other features include cabinet doors and panels from Lab Designs; lighting such as LED, Tech and WAC; closets hooked up with Hafele hardware; and double-paned Fleetwood windows and doors.
Tiles from Spain are used in the bathrooms, including the walls. The exterior walls feature matte tile for low maintenance.
The area of Norfolk, where this is located, is rural but close to Kailua and has easy access to Pali Highway.
The home will be open this Sunday, Sept. 6, from 2 to 5 p.m. Click here for more details.
Happy house hunting!
