Open house pick of the week: Diamond Head

As you go higher “on the Rise,” you’ll find that prices rise to match. This home, however, sits at a nice vantage point but at a more affordable price.

There’s nothing wrong with it—it was built in 1940 but was remodeled in 2010 to update the interior while retaining its vintage charm—the couple that bought it as a starter home have had a baby and want to expand their living area.

The home is 980 square feet with a 136-square-foot covered lanai. It’s more than halfway up the hill, which is why it gets ocean and Diamond Head views. It’s also off the main road, so it’s very private and quiet.

There are two bedrooms; the one bathroom and the kitchen have been remodeled and there are new appliances. The laundry room is separate and you get some storage, which is always a plus. There’s also a bit of a yard on the 5,581-square-foot lot.

For the location, it’s a good value at$699,000. If you want to see it, the home is open this Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. (Click here for details.)

Happy house hunting!
