Views from The Pointe

I’m always interested in the different ways people build homes to maximize its assets without compromising the way they live. One example is this home at 525 Moaniala in The Pointe on Hawaii Loa Ridge, which combines openness with many spots for privacy.

The home itself sits in a quiet cul de sac, but on a rim lot fronting preservation land. So on one side, you have a suburban presence with neighbors; on the other, a completely unobstructed view that goes out to the far edge of the Pacific Ocean.

Inside, the living room is wide open so that your eyes go straight past the lanai and infinity pool out to that expansive ocean view. The rest of the rooms are separated, especially on the first floor, but the path to each room flows well. If you don’t already live there, finding each new room is like finding a surprise around almost every corner.

There are five bedrooms and 5.5 baths in this two-story home, with the master bedroom on the first floor. Almost every bedroom in the house has a piece of that ocean view, so you can’t go wrong no matter where you lay your head.

The pool area, of course, is the best place to enjoy the gorgeous vista, but if you’re not a sun worshipper, there is a gazebo next to it for lounging.

Note that the The Pointe is a separate gated community with a clubhouse and tennis courts. Hawaii Loa Ridge is exclusive in itself, but this takes it to a whole new level.
