Open House Pick Of The Week: Kapahulu
Rarely available condo unit expected to sell fast.
When I was looking at this new two-bedroom listing in Kapahulu, I asked realtor Khai Tran about similar properties in the area so I could get a feel for how it stacked up. One of the reasons he thinks it’s going to get snapped up quickly is the fact that there aren’t many in the area, much less on the market.
“The general Kapahulu area doesn’t offer many condos, so it’s pretty rare compared to areas like Makiki or Waikiki,” Tran says. “Condo buyers usually focus their search in those areas simply because that’s where all the units are, and may not think to look in Kapahulu. With that said, this also isn’t so busy or noisy compared to a comparable condo in another area.
“At this price point you're more likely to find decent one-bedrooms. It’s super rare to have a two-bedroom condo with parking, that's fee simple.”
The building, Palani Hale, is an older low-rise condo with just three stories. The corner unit, on the “preferred” side of the building, has two bedrooms, one bathroom, 625 square feet of living area and an 80-square-foot lanai.
Although it’s closer to Date Street, the apartment is in walking distance to many of the restaurants and shops in the area.
Its first open house is this Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. Click here for details. Happy house hunting!
Money talk: $295,000 fee simple
