This Kailua open house to showcase local art

This renovated Kailua home is nice on its own, but to show off the unique, artful touches, Prudential Advantage realtor Rachel Barnette is bringing in the featured artist and having a giveaway at open house.

“I’ve always been an avid supporter of the arts and jumped on the opportunity to showcase Thomas Deir’s work at our open house event,” says Barnett. “The tile mural backsplash is the ‘wow’ feature of the custom kitchen in this quintessential four-bedroom, two-bath Kailua home with Mt. Olomana and Koolau views.”

As a renowned painter and tile artist, Dier’s works can be seen throughout the state including the Hilton Hawaiian Village, Kawaihao Church, Sea Life Park, Brigham Young University, and Hanauma Bay.

His original artwork is displayed throughout the home, but other than the kitchen backsplash mural, isn’t part of the sale price. Instead, Barnette is having a prize drawing of three of his matted 11x14-inch prints (valued at $25 each) during Sunday’s open house. The prints for the giveaway are Paradise, Mokulua Fireclouds, and Full Moon Mokuluas.

This 1,993-square-foot, single-level home also features strand bamboo hardwood floors, a gourmet kitchent with Bosch appliances, new bathrooms, upgraded electrical, new paint inside and out, new landscaping, and a photovoltaic system. (Click here for more details.)

The home will be open today from 10:30 am to 12:30 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. The prize giveaway will be at Sunday’s open house.

Money talk: $925,000 fee simple
