These New Luxury Townhomes Are Coming to Kāhala

Kāhala Avenue has a long and storied history: as one of the first places for oceanfront estates in Honolulu; for the Kawamoto era, when the Japanese billionaire owned 16 percent of the avenue; and as a destination for travelers from around the world. There are 47 oceanfront lots on Kāhala Avenue; only 28 run from the street to the beach. Walk along the beach and you’ll see everything from older local-style beach homes to run-down ’80s mansions to brand-new, extravagant resortlike estates.


For the first time since the development of the condos at Kāhala Beach back in 1966, there will be a new condominium on Kāhala Avenue. Kāhala by the Sea is a collection of six luxury residences on a large 1.3-acre lot at 4607 Kāhala Avenue. The townhomes are designed to have a single-family feel, with private pools, yards, garages and elevators in each home, and amenities that include an on-property general manager and maintenance services.

The two-story residences will range from 3,442 to 3,647 square feet and will have three and four bedrooms.


Kāhala By The Sea is being developed by 4607 Kāhala LLC, which is managed by Alexander & Baldwin. Other members of the design-build team are Albert C. Kobayashi Inc., Coastal Construction Inc., Benjamin Woo Architects and Philpotts Interiors.
