Someday, I’d love to be able to afford a home in Nu‘uanu. If I had a home in upper Nu‘uanu, that would be even better. And here’s a concept I had never even dreamed about: An upper Nu‘uanu home in an exclusive gated community.

Woodlands is a gated, condo-CPR community on a 16.22-acre parcel of forested land at the top of Waokanaka Street. Nahele Corp. acquired the land in 1987, created the infrastructure, and subdivided it into 19 lots, ranging from 8,282 to 38,402 square feet

This lot is 22,821 square feet and includes almost 13,000 square feet of preservation land. The single-family executive home is a spacious 2,685 square feet with 16-foot-high ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling living room windows so it looks even larger than it is. There are three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms in the split-level home, and there is central air conditioning throughout.

The gourmet kitchen features custom cabinets, granite counters, gas cook top and a bar for everyday dining or entertaining.

The entire rear perimeter of the neighborhood has a security fence for safety and privacy, and the wrought iron entry gate is opened automatically by residents using a remote control from the road or from their own homes using an intercom system (to let guests in).

Despite the home’s size, the monthly homeowners’ association maintenance fee is only $100, and it includes cable TV, internet service and a $50 credit for each homeowner's water bill.

This listing will be open from 2 to 5 p.m. this Sunday, Jan. 11. Click here for more details.

Happy house hunting!
