Townhouse among the Trees

One of the apartments I lived in on Long Island in New York was surrounded by tall pine trees. Looking out the window from the second floor, I loved the feeling of being in the middle of the woods. It was especially magical when it would snow.

Though it’s unlikely to snow here, when I saw this listing at Hampton Court in Mililani Mauka, with its lush surroundings, I immediately thought of my time there. Also,  I was intrigued by the fireplace in the living room. Some of our recent rainy weather here has made me wish I had one.

“This house has a huge living room with a high ceiling and large windows,” says realtor Mikiko Terahira of Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties. “It looks like an East Coast house and feels like you’re in a forest.” My thoughts exactly, even if it is one accented with palm trees.

This three-bedroom, two-and-a-half bath townhouse was renovated in 2011. The kitchen and all of the bathrooms were redone, along with a coat of fresh paint, new flooring and carpeting.

I especially like the secluded patio off of the living room area; it looks like a great place to relax and enjoy a cup of tea.

The master bedroom and bathroom are conveniently located on the first floor, affording more privacy away from the other bedrooms. A separate laundry room and powder room are also on the ground floor.

If you’d like to see it for yourself, there will be an open house this Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. Click here for details.
