This past September, 1517A Spreckels St. sold for $538,888, well below its tax-assessed value. For a good reason: The property needed a lot of work. Five months later, it’s back on the market, though, if you weren’t looking for it, you wouldn’t believe it was the same home.
Listed now for $988,888, it’s still a small home, about 900 square feet, in a very urban area, on a 2,399-square-foot lot. It’s still got three bedrooms and two bathrooms. But everything else about it has changed. We spoke to owner Alexandre Picard, who told us he wanted the home to be a nice property for himself and the future owner. Right off the bat, you notice the ceilings. Extenzo solution ceilings reflect, giving an impression of high ceilings and much more space than there really is.
Picard also added a chef’s kitchen, laminate flooring throughout, new appliances and split AC units. The fresh paint inside and out, as well as unique, fun furnishings and accents, make it feel like a brand-new home. We don’t know what he spent, but it’s safe to say it looks like a million bucks.
