Open house pick of the week: Marco Polo
When I started following the Pachecos in their search for their first home, I’ve been trying to keep my eyes open for good prospects. They seem partial to condo living, so Marco Polo is a pretty good choice, since it’s conveniently located to schools, shopping, dining, the park and Waikiki.
There are currently 10 available listings in the building, five of which are fee simple. The newest listing is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom corner unit with a wraparound lanai, and it’s nicely priced at $409,000 due to being on a low floor. Realtor Nicole Choi of Prudential Locations calls this “the best deal in the building,” which is kind of subjective but I’d tend to agree, given the amenities, convenience and its fee-simple status.
The building gets a walkscore.com score of 75 for walkability, which is pretty good. Amenities include a pool, a sauna, a tennis court, meeting rooms, a rec area, a putting green and a barbecue. This unit has a view of the park, the Ala Wai canal and city lights, and is a cool unit, thanks to the window facing mauka in the dining area. The décor is a little dated, and the condition about average, but it looks like a decent project for personalizing the space. (Click here for more details.)
This unit is open from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Happy house hunting!
