Open House Pick of the Week: Pearl City
Affordable townhouse with upgrades makes this a hidden gem.
With the storms approaching, many open houses were closing fast this weekend. My fellow real estate blogger and intrepid journalist Jaymes Song, however, went ahead with this open house, which is partly why I chose this for our open house pick of the week.
The other reason, as you will see, is this new listing really is an amazing value and I expect it to go quickly. At $255,000, this is priced about $100K below Oahu’s median price for condos and townhomes.
From the outside, it looks pretty simple, but this 768-sq. ft. corner unit is well-maintained with an upgraded kitchen, so it looks even spiffier when you walk in. The kitchen leads to the living room and a half-bathroom on the ground level.
The two bedrooms and a full bathroom are on the second floor — and this is the only active two-bedroom listing in Waiau Gardens, so it’s a commodity. It’s also rare because it comes with two side-by-side parking stalls, both near the unit and both “end” stalls, a desirable location. (Most units have one parking stall.)
There is a washer and dryer in the unit, which condo dwellers always ask for. The large trees in the back help provide an added bonus of shade and privacy.
