More red-light camera corruption ...

According to, Italy is investigating a traffic engineer, 63 chiefs of police and 39 local governments for cheating citizens out of $1.86 million in traffic fines. Allegedly, these defenders of public safety cut the yellow-light time in half in order to increase the number of motorists who would get caught by red-light cameras. In more than 300 municipalites.

Hats off to the Italians for style, however—check out the item's photo of an Italian traffic  signal. Why, it's so hot, it could ... stop traffic.
