Published:

Who: Reise Kochi. The on-the-rise, Oahu-based designer first hit our radar in 2010 when his womenswear collection took home the Best Design award at the Honolulu Community College Student Designer Fashion Show.

What: Kochi’s new mini-collection of hand-crafted leather accessories, including an oversize clutch, a chain-strap satchel and a sleek envelope-style card case. Shown here in brown, the card case has the deepest stock, with neon leather versions on the way.

Why: Melding raw and refined, the collection’s burnished studs, leather cording and hand-dyed panels add up to great, one-of-a-kind statement pieces.

Where: The card case will be available by special order through Kochi’s Facebook page and the handbags will be available at Collins & 8th, 560 Pensacola St., 593-9696.
