Is that "koa beetle" a misidentified photo subject, or a very poorly coined common name? What's show is not a beetle (Coleoptera)at all, it's very clearly a bug (Hemiptera), belonging to the Pentatomidae (stink bugs) or a related family.

It's a little of both: that's a "Koa Bug" (Coleotichus blackburniae, family Scutelleridae), but there is also a beetle known as the "Koa Beetle".
