Readers' Picks

Local Radio Personality

Perry and Price, the duo behind KSSK’s morning show, have been on the air since 1983. Their personal histories are rich with accomplishment in Hawaii, which probably accounts for their consistent status as the top runners in their market. AM590/FM92.3, ksskradio.com.

Public Official

“It just goes to show if you hang on long enough, you’ll be forgiven!” says Gov. Neil Abercrombie, of his selection as readers’ favorite public official. “Am I going to be listed next to Best Loco Moco?” Abercrombie has been serving Hawai‘i since 1974 and, after almost three decades of policymaking, the leader’s public support is as strong as ever. Abercrombie says the governor’s office is the final stop in his political career, which still leaves potentially eight years of work ahead.

Local TV Personality

You can catch Joe Moore, our readers’ favorite local TV personality, on KHON2, where he anchors Hawaii’s World Report at 5:30 p.m., KHON2 News at 6, and KHON2 News at 10. A graduate of Aiea High School (class of ’65), Moore has been on the air here since 1969.
