Bike Education

Editors' Pick

Sure, you know how to ride a bike. But can you fix one? The bike repair clinics held at Island Triathlon and Bike will teach you how, every Thursday at 6 p.m. For $10 a class, you can learn all the basics of bicycle maintenance and repair, starting with flat-tire avoidance and repair, and moving on to brakes, gear adjustment, wheel truing and hub maintenance. Owner Frank Smith says, “We’ve been offering these courses almost from the beginning, 25 years ago. It reflects my philosophy about cycling. We want people to be able to master their own machines.” Call 732-7227 for more info and reservations. 569 Kapahulu Ave., itbhawaii.com.
