Pandas!

Published:

Local artist Aaron Martin takes a break before adding large teeth and glaring eyes to a congregation of pandas at The Contemporary Museum in January, one of his last Hawaii installations before moving to Los Angeles to pursue his rapidly expanding career. Martin has made an international name for himself as the Angry Woebot with his burly, menacing pandas, which he’s been painting for six years. “There just something about giving a docile creature like a panda more of an angry expression like a grizzly bear. People have really responded to it,” he says. Martin may be off traveling the world, but you can catch the finished mural at the Contemporary Café, and keep up with his latest projects at www.armyofsnipers.com.
