The Saturday gathering at Kapiolani Community College remains the granddaddy of all farmers’ markets. Our unofficial guesstimate has around 5,000 people wandering the stalls every Saturday. Seniors-on-a-mission rub shoulders with camera-wielding tourists and it’s all happily mixed together with wafts of coffee and sugar and bread and flowers and herbs. Keep an eye out for new products making their gastronomic debuts, sample some golden honey and pick up some tomatoes that actually look—and taste—like they grew in a garden.
