Editors’ Pick

If you’re looking to test your nerves of steel, Hawaii Shark Encounters will take you to visit sharks right where they live, three miles off Oahu’s North Shore. There’s a slim chance you’ll run into a tiger shark or a great white shark (safely behind bars, thankfully), but you’ll more likely see Galapagos sharks and sandbar sharks, as well as dolphins, whales, barracuda and other marine animals. It’s not just about thrills—Hawaii Shark Encounters’ goal is teaching the value of sharks in the ecosystem. OK, but we still think they’re pretty scary., 351-9373.
