Neighbor Island Bed and Breakfast

Readers’ Pick

Located a mile from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, in the small, aptly named town of Volcano, Kiluaea Lodge and Restaurant is run by Lorna and Albert Jeyte. The Jeytes purchased the lodge—originally built in 1938 as a YMCA camp—in 1986 while honeymooning on the Big Island. More than two decades later, the lodge is a quaint and successful bed and breakfast with 12 suites on the property and an additional three private suites located nearby. The lodge caters to tourists and locals alike, many people coming over from Oahu, as well as those from Kona who want to travel without island hopping. 19-3948 Old Volcano Road, Big Island, (808) 967-7366,
