There are a few reasons it’s impossible to find a seat at the Mai Tai Bar at 5 p.m. on almost any given weekday—the tasty pupu, the live local music, the thank-goodness-it’s-pau-hana vibe. But mostly, it’s the cheap booze. With $6 pitchers of beer and $4 cocktails, it’s hard to beat the prices at this hotspot, even if you have to save your money standing up.
