Sand People

There are other branches of this store on Maui and Kauai, but this is Oahu’s only Sand People, home to clever gift ideas. Shop for vintage-style signs, such as “Beach this way,” or a line of glassware made from recycled glass. Each piece is handmade and signed by the artist; prices start at $20 and go to $135 for a large serving platter. About 70 percent to 80 percent of the jewelry sold in the store is locally made, and you’ll also find soaps, lotions and candles. The best place to park if you want to shop here is at the Princess Kaiulani Hotel.
