Hau Tree Lanai
The Hau Tree Lanai is sure to impress visitors, but it’s also a “poof! instant vacation,” opportunity for locals. The open-air terrace is one of the few places in Waikiki where you can dine al fresco. Sure, it’s pricey—you’re paying for that sandy view—but the portions are large and the food is excellent. Better still, the service is unhurried in a good way, allowing you to linger over your meal. Maître d’ and sommelier Danny Matsushita notes a new wine program, including some unusual wines from Argentina, France and Italy. Reservations recommended.
