A classic HONOLULU cover, recreated

Published:

Design director Erik Ries was so captivated by this November 1970 Holiday Annual cover that he was moved to recreate it. HONOLULU often featured beautiful women on its covers in the late ’60s and early ’70s, photographed in a glamorous Island style. The original 1970 cover photo of French-Vietnamese model Danielle Poe was designed and shot by Alma McGoldrick.
