An oral/maxillofacial surgeon is a dentist who can perform surgery in and about the head. Oral surgery ranges from extracting teeth to facial reconstruction for patients who have suffered from cancer or trauma. Many oral surgeons are licensed to work on some of the same procedures as plastic surgeons, including rhinoplasties and chin implants.
