Auntie Pasto's is leading the pack in healthy Italian dining. Only canola and olive oils are used in the restaurant (transfats are not allowed on the premises). You can get your seafood pasta (or whatever your preferred dish) with whole-wheat pasta, and even those with allergies can breathe easy with its allergy-sensitive staff (yes, they have gluten-free pasta). Ed Wary, the driving force and founder behind the two Auntie Pasto's locations (Honolulu and Kunia), is the big-picture guy who's thinking about the environment in addition to his menu. The restaurant boasts the best biodegradable containers (no plastic or styrofoam), the majority of wine bottles have screw caps and a robust recycling program is in place. Open Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 4 to 10 p.m.
