A runner celebrates his triumphant finish as he moves through a cooling spray station along the Honolulu Marathon route. Now in its 44th year, the Honolulu Marathon is the fourth largest in the U.S., with about 30,000 participants, almost half of whom come from Japan. Late registration takes place Dec. 8 through 10 at the Honolulu Marathon Expo, held at the Hawai‘i Convention Center.
