Bill Maher Standup Comedy

Wednesday, December 31

For the fourth consecutive year, comedian Bill Maher will be in town for a standup comedy performance at the Neal Blaisdell Center, one night only. Known best for his TV shows Politically Incorrect and Real Time, Maher will once again be bringing his patented blend of political wit and tell-it-like-it-is comedy to the stage.

8 p.m., $45.50-$150.50, Neal Blaisdell Concert Hall, 777 Ward Ave., blaisdellcenter.com/ai1ec_event/bill-maher-aloha-tour/?instance_id=118635.

Fukubukuro at Ala Moana Center

Thursday, January 1

Though Christmas is over, there’s one more reason to stand in line: Ala Moana Center’s Fukubukuro grab bags, from more than 60 retailers. The mystery bags must be purchased from a participating store, but each bag’s contents will be valued at twice its sticker price. Get there early and have a plan of attack, because these bags sell out shortly after stores open.

Ala Moana Center opens at 9:30 a.m., 1450 Ala Moana Blvd., alamoanacenter.com.

DJ Marc Marzenit at Eleven44

Friday, January 2

If you’re not partied out, you may want to check out the first First Friday of the year in Chinatown. Guest house DJ Marc Marzenit is in town from Barcelona, Spain to perform a two-hour long set at Eleven44.

21+, 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., 1144 Bethel St., Chinatown.
