The Package Deal

You mean you still haven't mailed your gift to Auntie? Get thee to a post office, pronto. Here are this year's shipping deadlines for items in order for them to arrive by Christmas, according to the U.S. Postal Service. For tips on how to best prepare and mail packages, visit www.usps.com.

Dec. 9: Packages sent via air, as well as letters and cards, to Europe, Asia, the Pacific Rim, Guam, Saipan, Rota and Tinian.

Dec. 16: Priority mail packages to the Mainland and Alaska.

Dec. 16: Cards and letters to the Mainland and Alaska. Global Express mail deadline for Asia and the Pacific Rim.

Dec. 21: Express mail to the Mainland and Alaska.

Dec. 21: Priority mail, cards and letters within Hawai'i.

Dec. 22: Express mail within Hawai'i.
