Whiskey Dinners and Cocktail Classes with Bobby Gleason

At one time, he held the world record for most cocktails mixed in an hour (253). Last year, he was the personal bartender to Kid Rock on his "Best Night Ever" tour. This week, Bobby "G" Gleason, master mixologist for Beam Inc., is in town for cocktail classes and whiskey dinners. But he won't just be promoting whiskey: in addition to Jim Beam, the Beam Inc. portfolio includes a wide variety of spirits, from Laphroaig Scotch to Cruzan rum. The events:

  • Seminar for professional bartenders
    Want to learn how the pros make cocktails? While this class is geared towards working bartenders, the public is also invited. You'll learn how to build cocktails, use the proper tools, and get a lesson on rum and tiki drinks.

    $75 for members of the general public, 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, March 28 at Tiki's Grill and Bar

  • Whiskey dinner at Pint and Jigger
    In addition to a four-course dinner with whiskey cocktail pairings, you'll be able to taste the rare Booker's 25th anniversary bourbon. Hawaii was only allocated 30 bottles of this limited edition bourbon. Dinner starts with bone marrow with chimichurri and ends with a chocolate stout cake with candied bacon and whiskey glaze.

  • Cocktail class at The Pig and the Lady
    A class for cocktail enthusiasts, working with Cruzan rum, Jim Beam Black, El Tesoro Tequila, Laphroaig Scotch, and Pinnacle vodka (Beam brands, naturally). Class also includes lunch prepared by The Pig and the Lady.
