There’s no excuse for showing up to a Valentine’s Day date empty handed, especially with so many sweets options in Honolulu. Here are seven places you can pick up yummy gifts your darling will love.

Options are plentiful at this cute Mānoa boutique but, if you want to go beyond the standard box of truffles, owner Erin Kanno Uehara has put together a number of V-Day-only specials for him, for her or for yourself. A nine-piece box comes with preset flavors including a gold-sprayed solid dark chocolate heart, white chocolate with strawberry rhubarb, and peach chardonnay ($19.99). If you want to share, a 20-piece box comes with two of each flavor, ranging from Surinam cherry to triple chocolate ($39.99). One of our favorite options is the heart-shaped box made of chocolate ($6.99), into which you can sneak jewelry or other gifts (just make sure you don’t let it melt). We also love the full-pound box set, half filled with dark chocolate macadamia nut clusters and half with chocolate-dipped fruits ($39.99), and different flavors of chocolate-covered Oreos ($2.49 each or $10.49 for a bag of four). Pre-order your items or visit the shop, which will be open and fully stocked on Valentine’s Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Every year, Honolulu Chocolate Co. sells chocolate-dipped strawberries by the pound ($32) or half-pound ($16). One pound includes about a dozen strawberries—perfect for sharing. Orders are being accepted now, and pickup is anytime between Feb. 8 and 14. Call for more information and to place your order.

In this small shop at Royal Hawaiian Center, you can get Malie Kai’s new white-chocolate lemon vodka truffles, made with vodka brewed on Maui, along with a box of Hawaiian rum truffles and a small purse with the Malie Kai logo, for $45.95, a special price for Valentine’s Day. As if the 65 different chocolates at Padovani’s weren’t enough to choose from, for Valentine’s Day, many will be heart-shaped or come with edible gold flakes. Philippe and Pierre Padovani have yet to finalize all their special packaging and box sets, but you can expect compartments for chocolates as well as other gifts, such as jewelry, which you can also buy from the shop. For something a little cheekier, pick up some Kama Sutra chocolates for $38 a set.
