When was the last time you went to a show at the Blaisdell Arena and made a difference in your local community? Well, here’s your opportunity!

World-renowned Broadway singer/actress Lea Salonga and Dancing with the Stars phenom and Island girl Carrie Ann Inaba will participate in Kristi Yamaguchi’s Golden Moment, an extraordinary benefit concert-on-ice for early childhood literacy in Hawai‘i.

The Tony Award-winning Salonga will join a star-studded cast of international figure-skating champions, including Meryl Davis and Charlie White, Daisuke Takahashi and Katia Gordeeva, who will take “center ice” at the Blaisdell Arena in this all-new production of Golden Moment, a project of Yamaguchi’s Always Dream Foundation to help raise funds for Hawai‘i’s Title 1 public schools. The skating extravaganza will be choreographed to live musical performances by Salonga, while Olympic gold-medalist Brian Boitano serves as co-host to Carrie Ann Inaba on Sept. 9. Billy V. returns as co-host for Sept. 10. (See Golden Moment highlights here.)

“I’m thrilled to have Lea and Carrie Ann join us for Golden Moment 2017,” Yamaguchi says. “Hawai‘i is like a home for all of us, and we’re so excited to perform here together for the first time, not only to bring a once-in-a-lifetime show to the people of Hawai‘i, but to support early childhood literacy for underserved kids in the Aloha State.”

Kristi Yamaguchi’s Golden Moment is Saturday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 10 at 4 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at alwaysdream.org and Ticketmaster.com, or avoid ticketing fees at the Blaisdell Center box office. Use promo code AIO, valid online and at the box office, to receive more than 10 percent off your purchase.
