Luau stew at Heeia Pier General Store and Deli

We first had this when Mark Noguchi helmed the kitchen of this fishing supply-slash-plate lunch shack, and we’re happy to report that, despite his departure, the luau stew still rocks. Five essentials—kalo or luau leaves, pork shoulder, onion, ginger and salt—are simmered down to an unctuous, creamy green sea studded with soft chunks of meat.
