For 11 years, Ninniku-Ya has been pleasing garlic lovers with an Asian-European fusion cuisine that manages to insert the pungent herb into just about every item on the menu. Sounds like garlic overload, but, on a recent visit to the cozy little restaurant, we found everything to be just right, from the garlicky escargot to the garlicky seafood pasta to the garlicky filet mignon. The garlicky garlic ice cream came the closest to being too much garlic, but we managed to polish that off with no problem at all.

Some HONOLULU readers may still miss Baci Due, the upscale Italian restaurant that originally gave this little cottage a great makeover.
