Just makai of the theatres, in a corner of the park that juts most into the waters of Pearl Harbor, we find the Contemplation Circle.
Given the feature’s shape, its location, and the fact that, from here, you can take in the entire eastern half of Pearl Harbor, with its active Navy base, museum ships, memorials, and more—well, the sign just struck me as unintentionally funny. I understand that interpretive centers strike to curate the visitor’s experience, but this lays it on a bit thick. Contemplate! Now! In this circle!

What are those two guys contemplating and pointing at?
