I became chief of the Dental Division at Queen’s Medical Center in 2010. I bring 32 years of experience to my Honolulu practice. My credentials include: dental school honor graduate, 1978; periodontal residency certificate, 1985; board certifiCation, 1989; board recertification 2010; and induction as Fellow, American College of Dentists, 2004, and International College of Dentists, 2005.
I taught for 5 years alongside board-certified dental specialists and skilled general dentists, gaining a broad knowledge of dentistry. The arduous board- certification process made me aware of my capabilities and the limitations of treatment.
I am proud of the addition of Dr. Allison Tran to my practice, our service oriented support staff and my military accomplishments that resulted in my induction into the Order of Military Medical Merit and the Legion of Merit Award.
I am an active Rotarian, and I teach in the Queen’s Dental Residency Program, support the Dental Samaritans and represent Hawaii to the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Periodontology. I have been president of the Hawaii Dental Association, and I am the current speaker of the House and delegate to the ADA.
