Liljestrand Foundation and International Writing Program at University of Iowa are presenting a preview summit titled: The Margins of the Sea Preview: Peace. Global Understanding.Climate Change.

 

Panel presentation on Climate Change and Social Justice moderated by Chip Fletcher, Associate Dean and Professor, University of Hawai’i at Mānoa School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology, Vice Chair Honolulu Climate Change Commission. He is author of Climate Change: What the Science Tells Us. 

 

Maxine Burkett is a professor at University of Hawai‘i School of Law and co-founder of Institute for Climate and Peace. 

 

James Redford is a serial storyteller, social change filmmaker, co-founder of KPJR Films and Chair of the Redford Center.

 

Maya Soetoro-Ng is consultant to the Obama Foundation working to develop international programs in the Asia Pacific region and co-founder of the Institute for Climate and Peace. She was previously Director of the Matsunaga Institute of Peace and Conflict Resolution at University of Hawai‘i.
